TOPIC:  REASON FOR GOD’S BLESSING

MEMORIZE: “This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.”  Isaiah 43:21

SCRIPTURE READING: Eph 1:6,12-14.

“To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

EXPOSITION:

God is God of purpose and traces up all His promised blessings for His people to their relationship with Him – designed with the purpose of showing His glory - Isaiah 43:21: This people have I formed for myself, and therefore I do all this for them, that they may show forth my praise. 

Note, 

1. The church is of God's forming, and so are all the living members of it. The new heaven, the new earth, the new man, are the work of God's hand, and are no more, no better, than he makes them; they are fashioned according to his will. 

2. He forms it for himself. He that is the first cause is the highest end both of the first and of the new creation. The Lord has made all things for Himself – for example, He specially chose the nation of Israel, to be to him for a people, and for a name, and for a praise; and no otherwise can they be for him, or serviceable to him, than as his grace is glorified in them, Jeremiah 13:11; Eph 1:6,12,14. 

3. It is therefore our duty to show forth his praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to his service. As he formed us, so he feeds us, and keeps us, and leads us, and all for himself; for every instance therefore of his goodness we must praise him, else we answer not the end of the beings and blessings we have.

PRAYER POINT: Lord, I receive to live to your glory and praise all through my life in Jesus name.
