Author: PASTOR DR. SAMUEL AYORINDE
TOPIC: CHRIST IS A SEVEN FOLD WAY
MEMORIZE: “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.
SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 9:8-15.
“The Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. 9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience-- 10 concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 ¶ And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”
EXPOSITION:
1. The only Way to God. - “"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:14;
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 7 Then Jesus said to them again, "Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 9 "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:1, 7, 9;
“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” 14:6.
2. The Way of escape from every temptation – “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13.
3. The Way into the Holiest - “the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. 9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience-- 10 concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 ¶ And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9:8-15;
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:19-23.
4. The New and Living Way - “by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,” Hebrews 10:20; “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
5. The Way of truth - “And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.” 2 Peter 2:2.
6. The right Way - “They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;” 2 Peter 2:15.
7. The Way of righteousness - “For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.” 2 Peter 2:21;
“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God--and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” 1 Cor. 1:30.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, open the eyes of sinners to you as the way of life and to walk in it In Jesus Name.
