WHEN WE PRAY IN UNITY

 *ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*THURSDAY, 13TH  AUGUST, 2026.*

TOPIC: WHEN WE PRAY IN UNITY

MEMORIZE: "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20.

SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 18:19-20

"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

EXPOSITION:

Prayer is a powerful tool given to us by God. It is a means of communication, a channel of grace, and a weapon of spiritual warfare. But there is something uniquely powerful about praying in unity. When believers come together, agree, and pray with one voice, extraordinary things happen.

1. THE POWER OF AGREEMENT IN PRAYER

Matthew 18:19 emphasizes the power of agreement: "If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

Agreement does not just mean praying together but praying in harmony—with the same purpose and faith. For Example: In Acts 1:14, the disciples “all joined together constantly in prayer,” which preceded the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. Unity in prayer led to a mighty move of God.

2. GOD'S PRESENCE IN UNITED PRAYER

Matthew 18:20 – "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

God’s presence is magnified when believers gather in unity. The collective faith draws His attention and presence. In 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, when the musicians and singers were united in praise, the glory of God filled the temple.

3. UNITY BREAKS CHAINS AND OPENS DOORS

* Acts 12:5, 12: When Peter was imprisoned, the church prayed together earnestly, and God sent an angel to release him. Unified prayer opened prison doors.

* Acts 16:25-26: Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns together, resulting in an earthquake that broke their chains.

United prayer not only delivers individuals but also breaks strongholds in communities and nations.

CALL TO ACTION:

* Commit to Unity: Make a commitment to live in harmony with fellow believers.

* Join in Corporate Prayer: Engage in prayer meetings and pray with others regularly.

* Forgive and Reconcile: If there is any conflict or unforgiveness, resolve it today.

PRAYER POINT: i. “Lord, make us one as You and the Father are one. Teach us to pray in unity, to agree in faith, and to believe for the impossible. Let Your Spirit move mightily as we gather in Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

ii. Lord, Make us a church that prays in unity and witnesses the power of God at work in Jesus’ name!

ETERNAL REWARD TO THE SAINTS – THE CROWN OF LIFE - Part 2

 *ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*FRIDAY, 3RD JULY, 2026.*

*TOPIC: ETERNAL REWARD TO THE SAINTS – THE CROWN OF LIFE - Part 2*

*MEMORIZE: “ Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12.*

*SCRIPTURE READING: Revelation 2:8-11.*

*“ "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: 9 "I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."' ”*

*EXPOSITION:*

Supporting texts: 2 Timothy 4:7–8, Matthew 24:13.

*HEAVEN IS NOT SILENT ABOUT REWARD.*

Beloved, the Christian journey is not a wasted journey.

*Salvation is free—but reward is earned.*

Many believers focus only on getting to heaven, but Scripture reveals that heaven is not a place of sameness. There are rewards. There are crowns. There is recognition. God is not unjust to forget your labor, your endurance, your tears, or your faithfulness.

> “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life…” — James 1:12.

*IV. THE CROWN OF LIFE VS THE CROWNS OF THIS WORLD*

Earthly crowns:

* Are temporary

* Are corruptible

* Are stolen, lost, or buried

Heavenly crowns:

> “…an incorruptible crown.” — 1 Corinthians 9:25

Paul said:

> “I have fought a good fight… henceforth there is laid up for me a crown…” — 2 Timothy 4:7–8

Truth: You may lose here—but you cannot lose there if you remain faithful.

*V. WHY GOD REWARDS THE SAINTS*

God rewards because:

1. He is just.

2. He honors faithfulness

3. He encourages perseverance

Reward is God saying:

> “I saw it all. I counted every tear. I forgot nothing.”

*VI. A SOBERING WARNING*

Not everyone who runs receives the crown.

> “Hold fast… that no man take thy crown.” — Revelation 3:11

Crowns can be lost through:

* Compromise

* Apostasy

* Carelessness

* Spiritual fatigue.

Don’t trade eternity for temporary comfort.

*CONCLUSION: THE CROWN AWAITS*

Beloved, heaven is watching. Angels are recording. God is preparing rewards.

The Crown of Life is waiting for:

* The persecuted believer

* The struggling saint

* The faithful widow

* The uncompromising youth

* The pastor who did not sell the truth

* The Christian who endured quietly.

*WILL YOU REMAIN FAITHFUL?*

This crown is not automatic. It is for those who love Him to the end.

* If you are weary—come.

* If you are tempted to quit—come.

* If you have compromised—repent and return.

* If you desire eternal reward—recommit.

*PRAYER POINTS:* “Lord, give me grace to endure. Let my love for You outweigh my trials.

I choose faithfulness over comfort. I will finish well In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ETERNAL REWARD TO THE SAINTS – THE CROWN OF LIFE - Part 1

 *ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*THURSDAY, 2ND JULY, 2026.*

> *"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life…” — James 1:12.*

Today, we are looking at one crown— *THE CROWN OF LIFE.*

*I. WHAT IS THE CROWN OF LIFE?*

The Crown of Life is not for popularity, not for talent, not for title. It is for endurance, for faithfulness, for victorious suffering.

Two major passages define it:

*1. Promised to Those Who Endure Trials.*

> *"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation…” — James 1:12.*

“Temptation” here includes pressure, testing, affliction. Not escape from trials—but victory through trials.

*2. Promised to the Faithful Unto Death.*

> *“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” — Revelation 2:10*

This crown is for:

* Believers who did not quit

* Saints who did not bow

* Christians who did not compromise.

*II. THE CROWN OF LIFE IS A REWARD FOR LOVE-PROVEN FAITH.*

James 1:12 adds something crucial:

> *“which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.”*

Endurance alone is not enough— Endurance motivated by love is what qualifies. You can suffer bitterly… or suffer lovingly. Bitter suffering hardens. Loving endurance glorifies God.

Two people carry the same heavy load. One complains, the other sings. The difference is not the load—it’s the love.

*III. WHAT QUALIFIES A SAINT FOR THE CROWN OF LIFE?*

*1. Perseverance Under Pressure.*

> *“He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” — Matthew 24:13*

Not those who started well. Not those who shouted loud. But those who finished faithful

*2. Faithfulness in Suffering*

> “Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial…” — 1 Peter 4:12

God is watching how you respond:

* When prayers delay

* When persecution arises

* When obedience costs you

*3. Victory Over Temptation*

Temptation is not sin—yielding is. Every resisted temptation is a heavenly record.

*CONCLUSION: THE CROWN AWAITS*

Beloved, heaven is watching. Angels are recording. God is preparing rewards.

The Crown of Life is waiting for:

* The persecuted believer

* The struggling saint

* The faithful widow

* The uncompromising youth

* The pastor who did not sell the truth

* The Christian who endured quietly.

*ALTAR CALL: WILL YOU REMAIN FAITHFUL?*

This crown is not automatic. It is for those who love Him to the end.

* If you are weary—come.

* If you are tempted to quit—come.

* If you have compromised—repent and return.

* If you desire eternal reward—recommit.

*PRAYER POINT:*

“Lord, give me grace to endure. Let my love for You outweigh my trials.

I choose faithfulness over comfort. I will finish well In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

THE ETERNAL REWARD OF THE BELIEVERS

 *ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*WEDNESDAY, 1ST JULY, 2026.*

*TOPIC:  THE ETERNAL REWARDS OF THE BELIEVERS:*

*FIVE CROWNS FOR THE SAINTS - Part 1*

*OBJECTIVE: To encourage believers to live faithfully, knowing that God has reserved eternal crowns for those who love and serve Him.*

*MEMORIZE:  “Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.” (1 Corinthians 9 v. 25).*

*SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Timothy 4:7–8.*

 *“7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”*

*EXPOSITION:*

Many run the Christian race, but not all finish well. The apostle Paul, nearing the end of his journey, declared with confidence: *"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness..." (2 Timothy 4:7–8).*

Crowns are not given for merely starting the race, but for finishing it faithfully. In Scripture, there are five different crowns promised to the saints—eternal, glorious rewards from the Righteous Judge.

*I. THE INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN – FOR SELF-CONTROLLED SAINTS*

*“24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24–27*

*Key Verse:* *“Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.” (v. 25).*

This crown is for those who bring their bodies under discipline and live temperate lives. It’s the reward for those who deny the flesh and walk in the Spirit. Are you running to win? Or have you become entangled with the pleasures and distractions of this world?

An Olympic athlete sacrifices pleasures, follows strict diets, and endures intense training for a medal that fades. How much more should we, for a crown that never fades?

There are many earthly crowns—of power, fame, success—but they all fade. The crowns God gives are eternal. These crowns are not for the perfect, but for the faithful. They are not earned by merit, but granted by grace to those who:

* Run with self-discipline,

* Long for His appearing,

* Endure trials for His name,

* Shepherd others faithfully, and

* Win souls to Christ.

Will you be crowned on that day? Will heaven recognize your life as one that counted?

*PRAYER POINTS:*

* “Lord, give me grace to endure. Let my love for You outweigh my trials.

* I choose faithfulness over comfort. I will finish well In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
