YOU SHALL BE TESTED BEFORE GLORIFICATION – Part 2
MEMORIZE: “And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.” 2 Kings 2:6.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Kings 2:1-14.
EXPOSITION:
“And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.” 1 Kings 19:3. That was Elijah and his first servant. When he was running away from Jezebel, he asked his servant to stay in Beersheba of Judah and he obeyed. He never see that will be his end in the ministry. He supposed to be replacement to Elijah but he couldn’t because he did not see his master again. He failed his test. The same test was given to Elisha years later, but he was sensitive and would not stop following his master to wherever he goes. This enabled him to succeed his master, Elijah.
What is your relationship with your boss? You are expected to succeed your boss, but are you not a supplanter under his/her? Are disobedient to the leadership of your boss? Desist from it. Your relationship with your boss is a test for you, your greatness depends on how wisely you handle your relationship.
Spiritual sensitivity or discernment is a vital key for you not to be misled in life. Elijah told his first servant to stay behind and wait for him. He obeyed and never see him again. Elisha will not stay behind waiting for him, and succeeded him with double portion of his spirit.
The house of Rechabites will never disobeyed the instruction of their forefathers even when God was trying their faithfulness and obedience in disguise. If you are not sensitive, you might fail most especially when they hear it is from the Lord. Don’t fail your test because glory lies ahead of you. But if you fail, not everyone who failed was given second chance. Not everyone who failed live to succeed in life. Be wise.
PRAYER POINT:
Lord, make me sensitive whenever my trial will come so as not to fail you in Jesus name.
DAILY BIBLE READING IN A YEAR – 1 Samuel 4-7
