Topic: HEAVEN IS REAL!!!
MEMORIZE: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you" (John 14:2).
SCRIPTURE READING:JOHN 14:1-6`(NKJV)
¹ "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
² In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
⁴ And where I go you know, and the way you know."
⁵ Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"
⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
EXPOSITION:
Jesus confirmed the existence of heaven in our text. As the day of His departure drew close, the anxiety of His followers increased. Will this be the end of Christ? How would they cope in the face of the coming persecution? Jesus, therefore, comforted them by promising to return again after preparing eternal mansions in heaven for them. In answer to Thomas' question about not knowing where He was going, Jesus emphasised that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no man can enter into heaven except through Him.
Jesus will not talk about heaven if it does not exist. He is the Truth personified. Believers should not be carried away by what science says, or what atheists, who do not believe in the existence of God, assert. The finite man cannot understand the infinite God. The wisdom of this world will be turned to foolishness eventually. Heaven is real, so is hell and the lake of fire. It is a prepared place for prepared people. It is the permanent abode of the redeemed, while hell is prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:34, 41).
Whatever believers are passing through right now is only temporal. The road to heaven is narrow and straight, dotted with so many trials and temptations. But Christ promised to wipe away our tears and grant us eternal rest in heaven.*
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY` "Heaven and hell are not fictions.*_
PRAYER POINTS:
LORD, Uphold us to the end not to compromise in our walk with you in Jesus name.
