Topic: THE BLESSED MAN IS THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN GOD

MEMORIZE: “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8.

SCRIPTURE READING: JEREMIAH 17:7- 8.

“7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For He shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8.

EXPOSITION:

Trust is to have confidence in a thing or someone. It is to assure others that you know it/him well. As in the case of God, it is to have believe and confidence in God that you are sure He will never fail His promise. This can be developed through unbroken communion/ fellowship with Him. Someone you don’t know, you don’t say “for sure I trust him”. 

It is written, “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8. Trust brings obedience along. You obey the person you trustand it must be willingly, not by force. God is worthy to be trusted. The word of God says, blessed is the man that trusts Him. The man that trusts God will desire a close relationship with Him. He will always want to be with Him. The blessing of trusting God include:

* He shall have access to the deep things of God - it is called the secret things of God.

* He shall be called a friend of God like Abraham. 

* He shall be a blessed of the Lord. 

* He shall call on God in the day of trouble and God shall him. 

* He shall not fear in the days of drought, for he shall be like a tree planted by the river side that does not know dry season. Jeremiah 17:7-8. This is talking of uncommon favour and blessings for those who trust God with their lives. 

As the year starts rolling, be among the blessed of the Lord by trusting and obeying Him. 

PRAYER POINT: Lord, help my faith to trust you wholeheartedly in Jesus name.
