*TOPIC:  CASTING YOUR ANXIETY ON GOD: HE CARES FOR YOU.*

*MEMORIZE: "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7.*

 *SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 6:25-34*

*"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear? 32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”*

 *EXPOSITION:*

We live in a world full of uncertainties—financial pressures, health challenges, relational conflicts, and personal insecurities. Anxiety can weigh us down, robbing us of peace and joy. But as followers of Christ, we have a promise: we can cast our anxieties on God because He cares for us.

Today, we will explore three key aspects of this verse:

 *1. THE COMMAND TO CAST*

Peter says, *"Cast all your anxiety on Him."*

What does it mean to cast? The word "cast" implies throwing something away from yourself and onto someone or something else. It’s not holding on or carrying it halfway—it’s a complete transfer.

*Why do we struggle to cast?*

Often, we hold on to our anxieties because of fear, control, or a lack of trust in God. But Jesus invites us to surrender our burdens: *“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).*

Take a moment to identify the anxieties you’re holding onto. Name them in prayer and intentionally give them to God.

*2. THE CONFIDENCE IN HIS CARE*

Peter assures us, *"He cares for you."*

*i. God’s care is personal.* This is not a distant, abstract care. God knows you intimately: *“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered” (Luke 12:6-7).*

*ii. God’s care is constant.* Unlike human care, which can be inconsistent or conditional, God’s care never wavers. *“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end” (Lamentations 3:22).*

When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself of God’s faithfulness in the past. He has cared for you before, and He will care for you again.

*3. THE COMFORT OF HIS PRESENCE*

Anxiety isolates, but God draws near. One of the greatest lies of anxiety is that you are alone. But God promises His presence: *“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).*

God’s peace surpasses understanding. When we trust God with our anxieties, He replaces our fear with His peace: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Make it a daily practice to seek God’s presence through prayer, worship, and meditating on His Word.

Casting your anxiety on God is not a one-time act; it’s a daily practice of surrender. Remember, God’s care for you is personal, constant, and unwavering. As you leave today, take this promise with you: "The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing" (Psalm 23:1).

*PRAYER POINTS:* i. Lord, we thank You that You care for us deeply In Jesus’ name.

ii. Help us to trust You with our anxieties and to rest in Your peace In Jesus’ name.

iii. Teach us to cast our burdens on You daily, knowing that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
