Topic: WHAT YOU SOW, YOU SHALL REAP
MEMORIZE: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatian 6:7.
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Corinthians 9:10-13.
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,”
EXPOSITION:
In the natural world, you must sow seed in order to reap a crop. In the spiritual world you must also sow in order to reap. God provides the spiritual resources for sowing: And God, who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your resources for sowing... (II Corinthians 9:10, The Amplified Bible)
God multiplies your spiritual talents and abilities to make you reproductive. God multiplies your financial resources so you can invest in His work. He does not multiply your finances for you to accumulate great fortunes. The purpose is that you can reinvest the blessings in His Kingdom. The rich but foolish man was regarded fool because he thought the increase and abundance that God graciously gave him from his harvest was for himself alone. He began to assure himself of enjoyment and satisfaction for many years to come. But God told him that he shall die that night. Luke 12:16-21 "And He spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And He thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And He said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is He that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
To this effect, whatever you sow, you shall reap. And you shall reap in proportion of what you have sown - either good or evil. Galatians 6:7-10 says; "7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall He also reap. 8 For He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but He that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
God is the faithful witness of all you are sowing and how you are sowing it. He is also the rewarder of all we have done and are doing. Be faithful to God and yourself, because you shall surely reap it.
