ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

SATURDAY, 30TH APRIL, 2022

Author: PASTOR DR. SAMUEL AYORINDE

Topic: PRAISE TO THE KING OF THE NATIONS

MEMORIZE: “For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.” Psalm 22:28.

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 22:22-31

“22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. 23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. 24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. 25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. 27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. 29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. 31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.”

EXPOSITION:

Today is the last day of the month of April, which marks the end of one third of the year. We observed it is good to ponder on the goodness of God over our lives, family and our nation. Since the beginning of the year till today, He has been watching over us, providing for our needs and healing us when we are sick. We must praise Him for His lovingkindness towards us that never fail. Psalm 22 is one of many Psalms of praises we have. The word of God gave us many reasons why we must praise God.

Let us  examine some of them…

1. He forgave us all our iniquities; Psalm 103:3

2. He healed all thy diseases; Psalm 103:3

3. He redeemed our lives from destruction - Psalm 103:4

4. He crowned you with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Psalm 103:4

5. He satisfied our mouths with good things; Psalm 103:5

6. He renewed our youth like the eagle's. Psalm 103:5

6. The kingdom of the earth is of the Lord and 7. He is the Governor among nations - Psalm 22:28.

8. He watches over us when we were helpless to watch over ourselves – Psalm 127:1b.

9. All promotions come from Him – Psalm 75:6-7; 1 Samuel 2:6-8.

10. He helped us when we were without help – Isaiah 41:10

11. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Psalm 22:24

12. He has not hid his face from us; Psalm 22:24

13. When we cried unto Him, he heard. Psalm 22:24

14. He gives us gift of life to see today. Remember many have gone too soon – 1 Samuel 2:6.

15. He gave us relevance in the land of the living – Daniel 4:34-36.

And many more that we don’t know or cannot mention. Therefore, to this goodness of the Lord, let us all praise the king of the universe and governor of the nations – our Lord God Almighty.

God is God, He is stronger than the strongest of your enemies and only Him can protect you from all evil plans planned against you. Kindly praise God with whole of your heart, using Psalm 22:22-31. Today is the day of praise to God Almighty, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Hallelujah!!! Paul and Silas praised God in their affliction when it was inconvenient for their human nature – Acts 16. No matter what we are facing right now, God deserves our praise. Praises have power to break the strongest prison doors and set the captives free. Praise God today and you shall live to see His wonders at work in your favour.

ACTION POINT:

Take time to praise God this morning and all through today for all His goodness towards you, known and unknown. Make Him happy for sparing your life and also appreciate Him for your requests yet to be given. Use praise to unlock the doors of fortunes that enemies have locked.
