Topic:  AN APPROVED MINISTER OF GOD – Part 2

 

MEMORIZE: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15.

 

SCRIPTURE READING:  Jeremiah 1:4-10.

“Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”

 

EXPOSITION:

Today we are proceeding our points on the qualities an approved minister of God should possess. Secondly, an approved minister of God should POSSESS A DEEP FAITH AND A GENUINE DESIRE TO SERVE AND UPLIFT OTHERS SPIRITUALLY. They are called to be vessels of God's love and compassion, sharing the divine message of hope and salvation with their congregations.

 

Thirdly, an approved minister of God should POSSESS A SOUND KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORD OF GOD, THE SCRIPTURE AND THE TENETS OF OUR CHRISTIAN FAITH. They engage in lifelong learning, studying theology, religious history, and interpreting scriptures to guide their communities in understanding and applying their faith to their daily lives. Their knowledge and spiritual insight enable them to provide relevant and meaningful guidance to those seeking spiritual nourishment.

 

Moreover, an approved minister of God should BE A LIVING EXAMPLE OF THE VIRTUES AND PRINCIPLES THEY PREACH. They are expected to embody and demonstrate the values of love, humility, integrity, and compassion in their interactions with others. By practicing what they preach, they inspire others to live a life aligned with their faith and to strive towards spiritual growth.

 

PRAYER POINT:  Lord, help me not to betray your trust in me in Jesus name.
