THE JUSTICE OF GOD

ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE For FRIDAY, 2ND JUNE, 2023.

TOPIC:  THE JUSTICE OF GOD

MEMORIZE: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”  Deuteronomy 32:4.

SCRIPTURE READING: Rom. 3:24-26.

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”

EXPOSITION:

An integral part of God’s justice is fairness; it is impossible for God to be unfair to any member of the human race. Sinful man’s point of contact with God is divine justice. The justice of God is the source of both judgment and blessing. What the righteousness of God demands, the justice of God executes. What the righteousness of God rejects, our sin nature and personal sin, His justice punishes. What the righteousness of God accepts, His own righteousness in the believer (1 Cor. 1:30 “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”), the justice of God blesses. The justice and righteousness of God combined with love forms His integrity.

God the Father is just in all His dealings with mankind (Deut. 32:4 “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”; Nehemiah 9:33). The Father gave the Son as a substitute to pay the penalty for our sins in order to satisfy the Father’s justice and righteousness – John 3:16; Rom. 3:24-26. He also appointed the Son the “righteous Judge” (2Tim. 4:8), giving Him the “authority to execute judgment” – John 5:27.

As an expression of God’s fairness, the Holy Spirit supplies common grace – His work that convicts “the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment” John 16:8-11 “”. God passes no sentences of eternal condemnation upon any person unless His offer of eternal salvation through the work of Jesus Christ is rejected. This offer is extended throughout the entire life of the unbeliever.

PRAYER POINT:  Lord, cause us to know you more, so as not to incur your wrath in Jesus name..
