EIGHT BIBLICAL COVENANTS - Part 10

ANCHOR OF LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE for FRIDAY, 7TH OCTOBER, 2022.

Topic: EIGHT BIBLICAL COVENANTS – Part 10

8. THE NEW COVENANT - Hebrews 8:8

MEMORIZE: “For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,” Hebrews 7:19.

SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 8:6-10.

“6. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

8. THE NEW COVENANT - Hebrews 8:8:

The NEW COVENANT is the eighth, thus speaking of RESURRECTION and of ETERNAL COMPLETENESS. The components of the New Covenant are:

 (1) It is "Better" than the Mosaic covenant not morally, but efficaciously (Heb. 7:19; Rom. 8:3-4).

(2) It is Established on "better" (that is, unconditional) promises. In the Mosaic Covenant, God said, "If ye will"; (Exodus 19:5); in the New Covenant, He says, "I will"; (Heb. 8:10; Heb. 8:12).

(3) Under the Mosaic Covenant, obedience sprang from fear; (Heb. 2:2; Heb. 12:25-27); under the New Covenant, from a willing heart and mind. (Heb. 8:10).

(4) The New Covenant secures the personal revelation of the Lord to every believer (Heb. 8:11).

(5) It is the complete oblivion of sins (Heb. 8:12; Heb. 10:17; Heb. 10:3).

(6) It rests upon an accomplished redemption (Matt. 26:27; Matt. 26:28; 1 Cor. 11:25; Heb. 9:11-12, 18-23).

(7) and it secures the perpetuity, future conversion, and blessing of Israel. (Jer. 31:31-40).

All the preceding Covenants were all shadow of the New Covenant, which is the greatest of them all. This New Covenant ushers us, the redeemed into perfect relationship with God, the Father, as it was Originally planned by God. It prepared the saints unto perfection.  At Calvary, the price of our redemption is fully paid. Hallelujah!!!!!!!

PRAYER POINT: LORD, Count me and my family worthy in your kingdom at the end of the in Jesus name.
