MERCY FOR RESTORATION - Part 1

FRIDAY, 28TH  OCTOBER, 2022.

Topic: MERCY FOR RESTORATION – Part 1

MEMORIZE: “Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?""  2 Samuel 9:1.

SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Samuel 9:7

“So David said to him, "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually."”

EXPOSITION:

Restoration is returning something or someone to an earlier good position. It is the desire of everyone. Mephibosheth also experience it. He was of a royal family but lost his access to the throne through the iniquity of his grandfather, king Saul. He was also a lame, not physically fitted for kingship. When least expected, God’s mercy found him and brought him back to the palace. David said, "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually." When mercy is at work, restoration is achievable within a short period of time. Mephibosheth was a prince, though denied of the throne and chased to Lo-debar, a pastureless land, but when mercy locate him, he was sought for, restored and fed with silver spoon for the rest of his life. He later lived a fulfilled life.

Mephibosheth is a symbol of life restored by mercy. He did not see the fortune  coming his way, but God’s mercy favoured him. You shall experience this power and wonder of mercy in your life henceforth in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT: Lord, let me experience the power and wonder of mercy in my life and family from now henceforth in Jesus name.
