Topic: NO MORE BARRENNESS

MEMORIZE: “Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, "Thus says the LORD: 'I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.'"  2 Kings 2:21.

SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Kings 2:19-22.

“19 ¶ Then the men of the city said to Elisha, "Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren." 20 And he said, "Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it." So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, "Thus says the LORD: 'I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.'" 22 So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.”

EXPOSITION:

Barrenness is an inability to be unfruitful or giving birth. It is usually common to the living things – human, animals. And plants (tree). But the word of God reveals beyond that… It goes to the point that even the land can be barren and even a community. A carrier may be barren, a business may be barren, a destiny can be barren, a relationship can be barren, etc.

In our Scriptures today, the men of Jericho came to prophet Elisha, when they saw the greatness of God in his life and change of status in his prophetic ministry. The Bible says, “Then the men of the city said to Elisha, "Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren." The curse that brought the barrenness to Jericho was released upon them when Joshua destroyed Jericho. The curse last for years. Elijah pass through Jericho and was not sent to heal its barrenness and bitterness of its water. But at the appointed time, the men of Jericho cried to Elisha unto God and the man of God healed the land and their water. It is written, And he said, "Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it." So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, "Thus says the LORD: 'I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.'" 22 So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.” 2 Kings 2:19-22. I speak to your life and destiny today, may all your barrenness and bitterness in your life turn to fruitfulness in Jesus name. May God heal your barrenness in all its forms and manifestation in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER POINT:

Lord God Almighty, heal the barrenness and bitterness of my life and family in all its forms and manifestation in Jesus name.
