HEALING THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

MONDAY, 31ST OCTOBER, 2022.

Topic: HEALING THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

MEMORIZE: “Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”" Mark 10:52

SCRIPTURE READING: Mark 10:46-52.

“46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you." 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." 52 Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”

EXPOSITION:

Jesus is the compassionate and wonders working God; who by his mercy has rescued many people from the captivity of the enemy, healed the sick, delivered the oppressed and set those who are possessed with evil spirits free. We experienced healing through any of these two means: 1. Through faith in Jesus Christ. 2. Through the Lord’s compassion (mercy).

MEN WERE HEALED THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST:

There were instances whereby Jesus commended the faith of people towards their healing. Jesus even said, “…for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20.

Jesus greatly commended the faith of the woman with issue of blood who had suffered many things in the hands of physicians for twelve years because of our problem. She took the step of faith “For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My clothes?" But the woman, … fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction."” Mark 5:25-34; cf. Matthew 9:22.

Jesus Christ also commended the faith of Bartimaeus the blind. It was his eyes that was blind, not his faith in Christ as recorded in Mark 10:46-52: “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. …And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”

PRAYER POINT:

Lord, help my faith in you to grow in moving your mighty hand unto great wonders in my life and family in Jesus name.
