SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 143:1

“Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness.”

EXPOSITION:

Today we want to study further to look into another dimension of God’s faithfulness. God is our Father from the moment we confess the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. He therefore establishes Father and children relationship with us. To this relationship, He is faithful, even when we are not faithful to Him.

GOD IS FAITHFUL IN HIS RELATIONSHIP TO US.

a. He is faithful in His love for us – "But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, And in My name his horn shall be exalted.” Psalm 89:24. “Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness.” Psalm 143:1.

b. He is faithful in helping us – 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

c. He is faithful in protecting us – Psalm 91:3-4, “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.” 2 Thess. 3:3, " But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

d. He is faithful in forgiving us – “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:8-10.

GOD’S WORD IS FAITHFUL

"And now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.” 2 Samuel 7:22;

“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” Psalm 19:7-8;

“Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."” Revelation 21:5.

PRAYER POINT: i. Lord, let me experience the wonders of your faithfulness to all your promises for my life in Jesus name.

ii. Lord, help me not to betray your love and faithfulness for me in Jesus Name.
